Proverbs 1:8-9
My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother; for they will be a graceful ornament on your head, and chains about your neck.
MI: Parental instruction is for your good.
AI: As my children (or those I mentor) make decisions, I will help them understand the consequences of their choices. I will focus on reinforcing good behavior and disciplining poor choices. I must be careful to consider my child (disciple) instead of myself, making sure my discipline is for their benefit, not my convenience.

Went through this one last night with the family. An appropriate "40 days" start for the Conover household. We had some good discussion. Maybe parents aren't so bad after all!
